Overweight, Depressed Lady Scolds Stranger About The Dangers Of Motorcycling Between Cigarette Puffs

“You know them things are dangerous…*cigarette puff… Sure as hell won’t find me one of them death traps. No sir…*cigarette puff… I only got one body and I’m gonna care for it. I tell you what.”

These were the unsolicited remarks of a Nancy Pryer – a local busybody who, ironically, possesses one of the least busiest bodies in town – to a stranger on a motorcycle who happened to park next to her smoking spot.

“I mean, don’t you want to live to see your 50s?” continued Nancy, who happens to be 37 and at a high risk of 7 of the top 10 leading causes of death. “All I’m sayin’ is that it seems a bit silly for someone to willingly do something that everyone knows is dangerous *cigarette puff.”

Nancy is referring to the fact that motorcycling comes with a few unique, inherent dangers that could lead to an earlier-than-expected death for the person who partakes in it if they’re not careful… similar to eating too much, smoking, sitting too long, drinking alcohol, driving a car, riding a bicycle, walking across the street, using stairs, and just the fact that by existing you increase your chance of death to 100%.

“Don’t you ever think about your family when you get on something like that?” Nancy said. “And good Lawd, I hope you don’t have kids. I don’t want to think about what I’d do if any of my three ex-husbands rode motorcycles around my kids I had with each of ’em. Amazes me some people just can’t look beyond themselves is all.”

We reached out to Don Givachit, the rider, to see if he had anything to say about this onslaught of opinions.

“I’m sorry, what? Oh, sorry, no I’ve been playing music in my helmet since I got here.”
