Broke Guy Optimistically Checks Price Tags At Ducati Dealership

Armed with a budget of $3,000 USD for his first motorcycle, new motorcyclist and life-long optimist, Darryl Foreman, strolls around his local Ducati dealership.

“I’ve been pulling a few overtimes at the shop lately,” Darryl said. “Not to toot my own horn, but I’ve pulled together a pretty hefty sum of cash and now it’s time to splurge on a new bike!” After his first lap around the dealership, Darryl liked what he saw.

“I’d be happy with any of these beautiful machines,” Darryl said. “Sure, I like some more than others, but beggars can’t be choosers, right?” Darryl, now on his eight lap around the dealership, was starting to wonder where the more budget-friendly options were.

“I thought I had found the right place when I came across a bike called the ‘hypermotard,’ but that bike had $17,500 on the tag!” Darryl said. “Who pays that kind of money for a bike with ‘motard’ in the name?”

After telling a dealership employee his budget, Darryl was sent to the apparel section. “I may have been in here a bit too long, because now $50 bucks for a hat seems like a good deal,” Darryl said.

When asked if his bike plans had changed any during this trip, Darryl had this to say: “For sure, it was a rookie mistake thinking I could walk up in here and get a new, affordable bike from Ducati. Fortunately, there’s an MV Agusta dealership down the street. I’m sure I’ll have better luck there.”

STORY UPDATE: Darryl is no longer an optimist.
