Young Man Still Convinced His GSX-R 1000 Is A 'Leader Bike'

Updated: Nov 19, 2021

ATLANTA -- With his arms crossed, local young man Tyler Williams stands beside his 2005 GSX-R 1000 with damaged, mismatched fairings.

“Yeah, the previous owner totally dropped it in the driveway,” he said.

This is Tyler’s third literbike since he started riding a year and a half ago.

“I started on a leader bike. Everything else just isn’t fast enough, ya know?” Tyler said, nodding at his friend’s 600 cc supersport that can go from 0 to 60mph in 2.8 seconds.

“It’s called a leader bike for a reason, it’s always faster than you,” he said.

When asked if he’s sure it’s not called a literbike due to the motorcycle’s engine being 1,000 cc, Tyler had this to say.

“Nah, I think that’s a European thing. We put gallons in our gas tanks over here.”
